Fancy Lessons
Easy's new favorite book is "Fancy Nancy." We checked it out at the library on our last visit and it is now requested at every opportunity. She has even renamed her teddy bear Fancy Nancy. So, tonight I was preparing a fruit platter to bring to a baby shower and I placed the pineapple top in the middle for dramatic effect. She came over and asked me what that thing was doing there. I told her it was for decoration. Her reply was this: "Mom, GREEN is NOT Fancy! It has to be Pink or Purple or Fuschia!" Obviously, I need to freshen up my Fancy-sense.

The Drudgery Report
I try to brainwash myself with quotes like this one, "To be happy, don't do what you like...Like what you do."
You know, I'm not sure I would mind it so much, were it not for this:

Stranger Danger
One of Cuddles and Easy’s favorite games lately is “Stranger Danger.” In which, you pretend to be a stranger offering them candy, they yell out, “You’re not my Daddy!!!AHHH!!!” and run away screaming. I am confident, however, that in the event that a real stranger offered them candy or a puppy they would gladly accept.
Recently Easy suggested, “Mom, let’s play stranger danger. …I will say ‘Come here, little Mommy, want to see my computer?’ and you can say, 'AHHH!!! You are not my daughter!!!’ and then run away!”
Which led me to ponder the telling detail of why she would offer me a computer...

Skinny Cows

We snuck into Costco yesterday while Easy was at preschool. Among other things, I purchased the Skinny Cows I have been craving. Turns out they were even on sale. Ch-ching! Shoulda got 2 boxes…
As the kids were helping unload the groceries I heard Cuddles say to Easy, “Hey, do you want a Skinny Cow? They’re full of flavor and have lots of vitamins! Flavor is really good for your body!” Oh, if only it were so, my darlings!Monday, March 3, 2008

It Doesn't Hurt to Ask...
My children have recently taken upon themselves the task of soliciting a new donation to our family. Specifically, a baby. It’s fun to see the responses of friends who they approach to see if they are planning to give their baby to us, since “Our mom is broken.”
On a related note, we recently were discussing Jesus being born of Mary, and Easy exclaimed, “Jesus grew in Mary’s tummy?...I grew in Mary’s tummy!!”
