Losing It

I decided several years ago that I would never buy bigger sized clothes. I would simply fit myself back into my clothes as needed. Well, it seems that those size adjustments are coming closer together.
We’ve been doing a modified version of Biggest Loser with The Professor’s family for several months. I’ve been coasting along, doing pretty much what I always do… Until last week when I got out my warm weather clothes and realized when I tried to fit into them that it was time to get down to business. That was further confirmed when I recalculated my BMI and discovered it has crept up to 25.
So, after my first week (this time around) of seriously tracking my calories I have noticed a few things. One is that I really like the Lean Cuisine paninis. Seriously, have you ever tried them?? Those babies really hit the spot! And I have figured out that I can make them last twice as long if I don’t put the two halves together, but eat each side separately. Mmmmm. 300 (non-dessert) calories never tasted so good! (Plus they're 2 bucks at Hannafords!)
I also realized, as I looked at my food log (I’m using the same spiral notebook that I used before since it has room left and I can copy what I ate last time) that it was almost the EXACT same day last year that I started doing this. I can still remember the drama. Same culprit: I broke out the summer clothes and after a miserable morning of trying to squeeze everything on…well, five weeks later I was 9 pounds lighter. We’ll see if I can beat that this time…

I didn't know you were so serious about the calories. Sorry about brining treats to playgroup! At least I cut the blondies really small! :)

Go girl! 9 pounds in a month sounds good to me, especially if I can eat panini!
